I have a question that a friend of mine, who grew up with me and didn't know about my abuse, asked me when I told her:

"How can I protect my children, make sure it doesn't happen to them?"

I taught mine about private, personal places on their bodies that only they can give permission to touch, not even parents are allowed, that they need to feel safe and if not to tell someone they trust. They also had a list of 5 adults who they knew would believe them so if one failed they had others.
