Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Byyee @Jacques, so nice to see you.

I'm so happy to hear about @WombatBoots one year aniversary at his job. Can't beleive it's been a year already!

I'm even more delighted to see this reunion unfold on here. It so nice to see how our little community has grown. With some of our older member @Jacques @Appleblossom @PeppiPatty and @Appleblossom @BlueBayand our newer members @Kurra @Bridgetjones @Faith-and-Hope

I remember when the Forums just started out in the very early days, and it was just @NikNik and I moderating from 5 - 10pm on weekdays. We used to be excited to get one post! Amazing to see such an awesome group of people come together.

Group hug!

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Hi @WombatBoots 😊

@Appleblossom - it was a pastoral care team who helped me sort out my anger issues, free of charge, thank God cos we were not financial at all at the time .... and it was just me, not mediation.  Had to get my head on straight before I could go back in and sort 'em all out .....

I'm an empath, and could understand all the miles walked in their shoes - especially having survived war-torn childhoods and losing critical relationships - but comes a point where bad behaviour has to be addressed anyway .... I realised that the war damage would keep rolling forward damaging our kids, and maybe their kids, if the tide didn't get turned .... still copped a brunt of their behaviour ... still do sometimes .... but it's so far reduced on what it was I can now refer to it as "the naughties".

Their own relationships with each other ... well ... ultimately that's their own business ... but most of them are not comfortable or happy.

@Kurra - sounds like you had a pretty good take on managing your own anger from early on ...

Thanks @CherryBomb, can always learn more ... and I am from all you guys 😏

As tough as I might have had it, I am very aware that's not a patch on some of the Titans who walk amongst us, having survived much worse ... and prepared to share their empathy and life-lessons ....

💗💕

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Hi all,

It's Friday and Im not rosteted on this weekend. That's one thing to celebrate but..... but even more worthy of celebration is my back is PAIN FREE!!!! I honestly didn't think I would manage to get through a full day at work today but I did. It's such a relief.

My hardest task this weekend will be to take things gently rather than deciding to build Rome in one day. As I have a habit of being decidedly impetuous this may prove to be a challenge.

All reminders to take it easy will be welcomed.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Thanks for replying @Bridgetjones ...   I'll give you a quick tip, while you are typing/writing if you use the "@" symbol it should give you a drop down list of the people in the current conversation...2 advantages to this 1. it's quick to reply/mention someone in a post and 2. if they have email notifications, it lets them know they have been mentioned

ok so me

I'm a wombat named matt ... ahh no I'm just a matt that loves wombats 🙂

I'm 45 and "ima newy local" ... translation = born and bred and still lives in newcastle

I love all of your music, as well as many others, grew up on U2, I love Rob Thomas and MB20, pink, same as you though I think we were born at a great time for music 80s etc etc I'm very open and broad.except for the heavy metal shouting stuff (i like to actually hear lyrics).

I'm a teal (not blue not green) favourite colour guy ... I'm not sure if colours mean too much but it is always an interesting question

In a previous post you may have read, I'm very lucky guy to be a very proud single dad of 2 beautiful kids 12g and 10b

and I do love hot food 🙂 mexican, thai etc etc

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Thanks @WombatBoots. Nice to meet someone on here close to my age. Do you like living in Newcastle? I love living in Canberra, have lived here all my life and cant imagine living any where else.
Im also a single parent, always have been. My fave foods are Chinese, Italian and enjoy Subway. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? I love writing to penpals (been a fave hobby since I was around 17. Am interested in learning about different cultures) reading ,TV, movies and of course listening to music.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Got a bit busy behind the scenes tonight... wasn't able to participate in the Friday Feast as much as I would have liked to.

It was still nice to hang out with you all.

I'm off now, have a lovely weekend. Heart

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast
