Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Then again there's the Mary River east about 1 1/2 hours from Darwin - reputed to have more crocs than any other river delta in the world - but still gorgeous country.  There are croc spotting cruises or Aboriginal Cultural tours in the area.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Nice to hear you've met someone @Adge  Hope your date is wonderful.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Then of course there's the red centre - Kings Canyon isn't as well known as Uluru but looks amazing :

Kings Canyon, Watarrka National Park, Northern Territory, Australia

320 km south of Alice Springs

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Last but by no means least - Kakadu (Gagadju) National Park - 3 hours east of Darwin :

and so much more.  Gagadju forms the western boundary of Arnhem Land - a whole other world that can be explored if you get a permit from the Northern Lands Council.

Lots of these places there's local tucker available too - magpie goose, crocodile, roo, buffalo and even turtle eggs in remote places.

I wonder if anyone else has been on this journey tonight?  I could continue but I feel like I'm out on a limb.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Thanks @Mazarita

Thanks @eth

I'm taking the journey with you @eth Even though I haven't been up there since the 1970's.

It was spectacular, I remember.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Yes @eth, I did a ten day tour of the NT but I don't have any photos on my phone and the computer is at the doctor

How about some of this too :

Rich chocolate cheesecake with rosella and ginger jammmmmmmmmmmm!  Sticking to the theme - rosellas grow wild all over the Territory.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

That looks scrumptious @eth

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Where were your favourite places up there @Adge and @Shaz51?  Ever been up that way @Mazarita?
