Re: SANE Community Feedback on the Federal Budget - May 2024
Not going to lie, this budget made me quite cross. We've been waiting for meaningful changes to the system since they started 'reforming' it over a year ago but ended up with $160m going towards something which sounds essentially the same as what is already available through SANE and other orgs and the promise of 61 centres with 'walk in' access to psychiatry and psychology. Right. So even though there's a huge lack of these specialties, they're going to find a bunch of them willing to give up their private practices to spend time in a Medicare-funded clinic. Good luck with that!
