I think it's something about the mindful ritual of the making as much as the drinking. It's a soothing process and the sitting down and sipping of the tea feels like respite.

Hey @Former-Member! Funny you should say that. I was going to say something along the lines of potentially having been Japanese in a former life, then I thought I might have had that all wrong. Glad you've confirmed it. I imagine the Japanese used tea ceremonies as a brilliant way of centring themselves so they can sustain their strong work ethic.
