Re: Schizoaffective disorder and just getting by

Hi @Jade30

How are you? How have things been for you? I haven't been the best. I was ok for a while but something happened. It's been hard to get back on track. I was doing well. I was pretty happy with myself. I have to get well again. I hope you are ok. Bye

Re: Schizoaffective disorder and just getting by

Hey there. Just reaching out to say your doing an amazing job.

Re: Schizoaffective disorder and just getting by

Hey @Jade30 ,

I believe that post above was for you?

Re: Schizoaffective disorder and just getting by

Hi, I am so sorry it’s taken me so many months to reply! I took a break from this forum but what a nice compliment to come back to, thank you.

I’m having a lot happier and calmer moments this year. I’ve been in the depths of deep recovery, ongoing but I am definitely getting there.

How are you going @Wolfpackx4

I hope you’re having a good day and giving yourself a big pat on the back for getting through.

Re: Schizoaffective disorder and just getting by

Hi @insideblue

So sorry for taking forever to reply! I had a looong break from here. Just too triggered from memory.

I’m actually doing okay, still in deep recovery, I’m hoping to enter just regular recovery at some point!! Have had a lot of setbacks but living in each and for each moment. It’s all you can do really. The illness is a devious little thing and can really sneak up on you a lot but I’m managing.

I’m getting a bit more support, family (siblings) is growing in maturity and accepting that this illness will never go away so they are on board. Also, I’m able to enjoy some simple cafe outings, which is a joy.

Now about you, some time has passed but please tell me things are working out? If not, that’s ok as well. How are you? I believe you can get back on track again. I’m proud of you.  And I’m so, so happy to receive your message after so much time. I thought everyone had forgotten about me!! Sorry again it took me so long to reply.

Re: Schizoaffective disorder and just getting by

Great to hear from you @Jade30 .

So good to hear that things are calmer. What's the secret?

Hope you have a great weekend!

Re: Schizoaffective disorder and just getting by

Thanks @tyme

Ahh, the secret…well I’m truly humbled as I read back on your words to my original post. Recovery has been happening. I gained a lot of resilience back last year. I’m not sure how to be honest. But I can def say I’ve learned a lot, still learning and I really don’t know as much as I thought I did. Recovery is happening, is all I know. Managing the everyday is constant but it’s getting a bit easier as my mind recollects itself and remembers techniques and skills.

How have you been? I hope you’ve been managing okay?

Enjoy your weekend also.

Re: Schizoaffective disorder and just getting by

I'll be honest, from the time I started my recovery journey, I never went back @Jade30  It's been so rewarding. And yes, I am learning EVERY day.

I really don't know how I came to be where I am today. I never thought i'd make it as my life was hanging by a thread.

I hope you find it as rewarding as I have @Jade30

Things have been better than what it's ever been for me. It's not perfect, but I can't complain.

What do you do to keep yourself busy?

Re: Schizoaffective disorder and just getting by

That’s wonderful to hear @tyme . I’m happy things are finally going your way, for the most part, very pleased for you.

To keep myself busy, I create. I make greeting cards using all sort of arts/crafts techniques. And so I have all my originals and then I teach members of my family and friends to recreate what I have made. That’s my happy place: teaching and creating.

I also enjoy walking a little and am so looking forward to Summer where I can just enjoy the outdoors.

I also like my trivia and enjoy reading up on all sorts of topics to build up my knowledge. Did you know that George II died from falling off the toilet? Fun fact for the day, I’m such a nerd.

What do you enjoy doing to pass the time?

Re: Schizoaffective disorder and just getting by

Hey @Jade30 ,

You're the second person this week who's asked me what I do to pass time. To be honest, I don't have much spare time.

If I do, I always time other things to do like take my nieces and nephew (and the dog) to the park or go for a bike ride.

Other than that, I'm always doing stuff.

I like daylight savings because I can do a lot more.

I spend a lot of time with my sister's kids. I also like swimming and water activities.
